Durante sua vida, Heinrich Rheinboldt diversas vezes demonstrou seus pensamentos em textos científicos, discursos em eventos e publicações nos anuários da Faculdade de Filosofia, Ciências e Letras da Universidade de São Paulo. Voltando os olhos para três textos específicos (A Química no Brasil, A vida de J.J. Berzelius e A história da balança), esse trabalho tem como objetivo analisar as concepções de Rheinboldt a respeito de ciência, educação e universidade que permeiam esses textos. Rheinboldt faz um relato bem detalhado a respeito da evolução da química como ciência e seu desenvolvimento no Brasil, e através de uma análise documental e com o apoio da bibliografia, foi possível verificar suas concepções e levantar hipóteses de quais eram seus pensamentos acerca da evolução da química no país, além de alguns pontos acerca de como ele se preocupava com alguns detalhes da formação de um químico, como por exemplo a ampla menção a manuais de química, grandes descrições de laboratórios, e a grande linha do tempo evolutiva por onde essa ciência foi desenvolvida até chegar nos dias em que se encontrava, na subsecção de Química da FFCL da USP. A partir dessas análises, foi possível identificar alguns aspectos do ensino de química no Brasil que eram importantes para Rheinboldt e a compreender aspectos envolvidos na formação dos químicos e dos professores de química na constituição da Universidade de São Paulo, e aspectos dessa formação que ainda hoje estão muito presentes em vários cursos de todo o Brasil devido ao fato de que Rheinboldt formou diversos alunos que foram responsáveis pela implementação de cursos de bacharelado e licenciatura de química no país, passando por um processo de institucionalização dessa ciência no Brasil, assim como seu ensino.

During his lifetime, Heinrich Rheinboldt has repeatedly demonstrated his thoughts in scientific texts, speeches at events and publications in the yearbooks of the Faculty of Philosophy, Sciences and Letters of the University of São Paulo. Looking closely to three specific texts (Chemistry in Brazil, The life of J.J. Berzelius and The history of the balance), this work aims to analyze Rheinboldt's conceptions about science, education and the university that permeate these texts. Rheinboldt gives a very detailed account about the evolution of chemistry as a science and its development in Brazil, and through a documental analysis and with the support of the bibliography, it was possible to verify his conceptions and raise hypotheses of what were his thoughts about the evolution of chemistry in the country, as well as some points about how he was concerned with some details of the training of a chemist, such as the extensive mention of chemistry manuals, great descriptions of laboratories, and the great evolutionary timeline through which this science it was developed until it arrived in the days it was in, in the Chemistry subsection of FFCL at USP. From these analyses, it was possible to identify some aspects of chemistry teaching in Brazil that were important for Rheinboldt and to understand aspects involved in the training of chemists and chemistry teachers in the constitution of the University of São Paulo, and aspects of this training that are still present today in several courses all over Brazil due to the fact that Rheinboldt graduated several students who were responsible for the implementation of bachelor's and chemistry degree courses in the country, going through a process of institutionalization of this science in Brazil, as well as its teaching.
