Abstract in English
To the master's program of Education College of University of São Paulo in the teaching Science field, the present dissertation is based on qualitative research of Lüdke and André (2012). Our hypothesis verified the possibility of social-spatial segregation identification throughout graffiti in São Paulo city. Thus, our main goal for drawing an applied didactical sequence for teenagers within thirteen and fourteen years old, students of Elementary II from a public school at the south zone of the capital, the graffiti in the Jardim São Luis (south zone) and Beco do Batman (west zone) were selected. For the construction of social-cultural profile of the city of São Paulo, a survey was applied to this youth group to verify if they know the city and which are the options for leisure and culture that were identified by them. The survey results and the information on mental maps constructed the comprehension of what these students know about the neighbourhood where they study and live. In other activities, the discussions of the concepts of habitus and Cultural Capital from the works of Bourdieu (2017 e 2016), linked to Charlot (1996) and Dewey (1959 e 2010) education concepts using image readings. Also, approaching the city concept presented by Santos (2014a e 2014b), besides the contribution of geographical education elaborated by the professor Gomes (2013 e 2017) and professor Castellar (2010 e 2013). Further, real and imagined cities from Argan (1998) and Benjamin (2012) contributed to the analysis of graffiti topics. The results obtained from the surveys and later graphics, shows that most of the students dont know the city of São Paulo. In the opposite time of school, teenagers prefer to be in their houses, for fear of violence in the neighbourhood. Finally, this research concluded that the students are capable of recognizing the direct relationship between the graffiti and the place they are inserted since the context portrayed on the images of the suburb refers to the speech of a living daily basis and it is very differently observed in other areas of the city of São Paulo.
