O que se sabe sobre os estudos da infância nos países africanos de língua oficial portuguesa? Essa foi a questão que desencadeou este estudo, que, depois de pretender pesquisar o conjunto desses países, compreendeu que a diversidade entre eles e a riqueza cultural de cada um somente permitia a investigação em um único. Assim, o objetivo desta investigação foi mapear e identificar estudos sobre e com a infância em Moçambique, levantando quem pesquisa a infância naquele país e como isso se faz. Para isso, foram tomados como base teórica o campo da Sociologia da Infância e suas concepções de infância como construção social e de crianças como sujeitos sociais, além do conceito de epistemologias do Sul (SANTOS, 2010a), para a compreensão das características e da diversidade encontradas. A pesquisa partiu de um levantamento da produção científica do país, para identificar pesquisadores e temáticas dos estudos da infância moçambicanos, além das principais instituições que produzem conhecimento científico sobre a infância e as crianças. Os estudos encontrados foram organizados em dois grandes grupos, produção do conhecimento e veiculação do conhecimento, para análise à luz do referencial teórico proposto. Foram identificados os temas, as áreas predominantes, os percursos metodológicos, os conceitos e os campos teóricos presentes nesses estudos, dando visibilidade à pesquisa sobre a infância moçambicana.

What is known about childhood studies in Portuguese-speaking African countries? This was the question that triggered this study, which, after intending to research all these countries, understood that the diversity among them and the cultural richness of each one only allowed the investigation of a single one. Thus, the purpose of this investigation was to map and identify studies on and with childhood in Mozambique, surveying those who research childhood in that country and how this is done. For this, the field of Sociology of Childhood and its conceptions of childhood as a social construction and of children as social subjects were taken as a theoretical basis, in addition to the concept of Southern epistemologies (SANTOS, 2010a), to understand the characteristics and diversity found. The research was based on a survey of the country's scientific production, to identify researchers and themes in Mozambican childhood studies, in addition to the main institutions that produce scientific knowledge about childhood and children. The studies found were organized into two large groups, knowledge production and knowledge dissemination, for analysis in the light of the proposed theoretical framework. The themes, predominant areas, methodological paths, concepts and theoretical fields present in these studies were identified, providing visibility to research on Mozambican childhood.
