Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo identificar as condições de emergência do discurso autodenominado maternidade ativa e suas regularidades enunciativas. Utilizando a perspectiva teórico-metodológica da análise do discurso inspirada em Michel Foucault, analisa-se centralmente um conjunto de publicações feitas por mulheres-mães em blogs maternos brasileiros na última década e o referencial teórico do obstetra francês Michel Odent. Nesse discurso, é defendida uma maternagem realizada por escolha feminina, consciente, guiada pela natureza e pelos instintos, respeitosa ao meio ambiente e baseada no protagonismo feminino e na dedicação intensiva materna. A maternidade ativa configura-se como um ativismo feminino por mudanças nas formas de parir e maternar que tem como finalidade o empoderamento materno, a melhoria do cuidado infantil e a transformação do mundo. A análise dos blogs e dos comentários às postagens permitiu perceber que esta formação discursiva professa formas legítimas e ilegítimas de como maternar, o que contradiz a liberdade de escolha defendida, gera disputas entres as mulheres sobre como maternar, intensifica a culpa materna e contribui na construção de um ideal de mãe e de cuidado que não considera os privilégios de classe, raça e gênero. Depreende-se que esse ativismo, embora se pretenda revolucionário e feminista e busque contrapor-se ao sistema social vigente, está em acordo com a maternagem intensiva requerida às mães na sociedade contemporânea e opera na racionalidade neoliberal, aprofundando a responsabilidade feminina pelo cuidado infantil.

This research aimed to identify the emergency conditions of the maternalist discourse in Brazil, self-called maternidade ativa [active motherhood] and its enunciative regularities. Using the theoretical-methodological perspective of discourse analysis inspired by Michel Foucault, a set of publications made by women-mothers on Brazilian maternal blogs in the last decade and the theoretical framework of the French obstetrician Michel Odent are centrally analyzed. In this discourse, a motherhood carried out by female choice, conscious, guided by nature and instincts, respectful of the environment and based on female protagonism and intensive maternal dedication is defended. Maternidade ativa is configured as a female activism due to changes in the ways of giving birth and motherhood that aims at maternal empowerment, the improvement of child care and the transformation of the world. The analysis of the blogs and the comments to the posts allowed us to realize that this discursive formation professes legitimate and illegitimate forms of motherhood, which contradicts the freedom of choice defended, generates disputes among women about how to mothering, intensifies maternal guilt and contributes to the construction of an ideal of mother and care that does not consider the privileges of class, race and gender. It appears that this activism, although intended to be revolutionary and feminist and seeks to oppose the current social system, is in accordance with the intensive mothering required of mothers in contemporary society and operates in neoliberal rationality, deepening female responsibility for child care.
