Abstract in English
This study describes and analyses Didactic Sequences oriented to the ethnic/racial education and to the implementation of Law n. 10.639/2003. In Portuguese classes taught at public schools, high and elementary students have produced texts on the representation of black Brazilians: everyday racism, racism on Brazilian TV, and the myth of the Saci. This is an action research project in which teenagers reflections on problematic situations are taken as the main study object. The concept of Didactic Sequences adopted here was developed by the Swiss authors Dolz, Noverraz and Schneuwly. Mother-tongue teaching is focused on textual genres, as set up by the National Curriculum Parameters and pointed out by Brazilian writers who have embraced Mikhail Bakhtins theories. Each one of the racial topics will be examined under the light of researches which dealt with that particular issue. All along this paper, mentions of authors such as Kabengele Munanga, Nilma Lino Gomes, and Antônio Sérgio Guimarães promote the comprehension and interpretation of racial relations in Brazil.
