Abstract in English
This study case is qualitative and started asking how teachers experience the introduction of portable computers in their practices in a local school in the city of São Paulo participating in the pre-pilot Project A Computer per Student (UCA). Placing them in the center of educational debate about the use of Information and Communication Digital Technologies (ICDT) in the schools, the study was committed to answer with the following questions: what do innovation and educative change mean? What do teachers understand as innovation? What motivates teachers to think over changes in their practices? To what extent teachers´ life stories and education itineraries are objectified (actually implemented) in their practices? What are the relationships between teachers´ pedagogical practices in using portable computers, their life stories and education itineraries in the confluence with the school´s organizational culture? To build an argumentative ground concerning the concepts of innovation and educative change; of teacher education in the perspective of professional development and of school as a context for learning, I have turned to the theoretical formulations by authors such as Formosinho (2009), Oliveira-Formosinho (2009), Fullan (2009); Fullan and Hargreaves (2001); Pinazza (2013, 2014). In order to collect I have utilized as a method the autobiographical writing of life and education itineraries in addition to documental research, face-to-face and e-mail semi-structured interviews, and reflexive writings about the teachers´ own. The purpose of listening to the teachers about topics directly related to them and to their work, valuing their trajectories and experiences, was based on the following authors: Nóvoa (1992); Bueno, Catani, Sousa e Souza (1997); Bueno, Catani and Sousa (1998); Dominicé (1998); Josso (2004). Upon completion of the analysis, I could find that: introducing technologies in the school, in itself, does not foster innovation in pedagogical practices, changes in educational paradigms, and the solution for educational problems; there are intrinsic relations between the teachers´ education itineraries, their experiences in the school with the political-pedagogical project and their teaching practices; teacher education in regard of the use of technologies at school focuses its efforts in getting to know the portable computer features, there is a need to best understand teachers´ experiences and demands by combining theory, practice and reflection about practice in the context of everyday work, enhancing participation, assimilating the concept of organizational learning, which will eventually provide educative change and a culture of innovation will arise.
