Esta tese tem, como objetivo, investigar a crise na educação contemporânea a partir da teoria política de Hannah Arendt e se insere no debate teórico da filosofia da educação, ao tratar dos temas crise do mundo moderno, perda da tradição e da autoridade e da questão da responsabilidade, em conexão com o problema da educação. Evidenciaremos como a compreensão da crise na educação pode ser articulada à análise da crise política, pois o exame dessa particularidade se deu anexado à crise geral da sociedade contemporânea trazida na obra arendtiana, observando seu potencial de força fundante da modernidade e desvelando-a como força criadora. Investigamos como a perda da autoridade e o rompimento do fio da tradição, elementos de discussão da filosofia política de Arendt, também repercutem na crise da educação que, apesar desses impactos, pode expressar uma face fecunda e produtiva da crise ao assumir responsabilidades com o mundo comum. Constatamos que, para Arendt, quando desaparecem todas as tradições, quando todo modelo de autoridade perde legitimidade, a educação não fica imune e evidencia, em seus domínios, uma crise. Ela se perguntou que aspectos do mundo moderno e de sua crise geral se revelavam efetivamente na crise educacional e refletiu sobre o papel que a educação desempenha em toda civilização e sobre a responsabilidade coletiva com o mundo que se assume quando se cuida de crianças e jovens e de sua formação. Assim, percebeu que, quando não se assume a natalidade como essência da educação, descuida-se dos recém-chegados, deixando-os abandonados em seu mundo, o que provoca, por consequência, a não preservação/continuidade do mundo comum; a educação dos novos é, nessa teoria, um sinal de amor ao mundo e o ponto em que decidimos se o amamos o bastante para assumirmos responsabilidade por ele. Confirmamos, com esse estudo, a educação como um problema filosófico e político de primeira ordem e evidenciamos que, pelo sentido público que engendra, ela tem potencial para vencer a crise e salvar o mundo moderno das ruínas.

This thesis aims to investigate the crisis in contemporary education from the political theory of Hannah Arendt and it is inserted in the theoretical debate of the philosophy of education when dealing with the themes of crisis in the modern world, loss of tradition and authority and the issue of responsibility, in connection with the problem of education. We will highlight how the understanding of the crisis in education can be linked to the analysis of the political crisis, since the examination of this particularity was attached to the general crisis of contemporary society brought about in Arendt's work, observing its potential as a founding force of modernity and unveiling it as a creative force. We investigate how the loss of authority and the breaking of the thread of tradition, elements of discussion of Arendt's political philosophy, also have an impact on the education crisis which, despite these impacts, can express a fruitful and productive face of the crisis when assuming responsibilities to the world common. We find that, for Arendt, when all traditions disappear, when every model of authority loses legitimacy, education is not immune and shows in its domains a crisis. She wondered what aspects of the modern world and its general crisis were effectively revealed in the educational crisis and she also reflected on the role that education plays in all civilization and on the collective responsibility with the world that is assumed when caring for children and young people and their education and realized that, when birth is not assumed as the essence of education, newcomers are neglected, leaving them abandoned in their world, which consequently causes the non-preservation/continuity of the common world; the education of the new ones is, in this theory, a sign of love for the world and the point at which we decide if we love the this world enough to take responsibility for it. With this study, we confirm education as a philosophical and political problem of first order and we show that, by the public meaning that it engenders, it has the potential to overcome the crisis and to save the modern world from ruins.
