A literatura sugere que as características de personalidade são formadas a partir de variáveis que se destacam ao longo do desenvolvimento da criança, podendo envolver temperamento, identidade, manifestações afetivas e formas de contato social. Este trabalho propôs comparar as características no desenvolvimento da personalidade de crianças e adolescentes com diagnóstico de Transtorno de Ansiedade (TA) e um grupo controle, composto por crianças e adolescentes sem qualquer diagnóstico psiquiátrico. A amostra foi compreendida por 92 sujeitos, sendo eles 47 do grupo clínico (GCLIN - 24 crianças e adolescentes, e 23 mães) e 45 do grupo controle (GCON - 24 crianças e adolescentes, e 21 mães), jovens com idade entre 8 a 17 anos e 11 meses. Para a caracterização dos sujeitos, os indivíduos passaram por investigação psiquiátrica (MASC-2; CBCL e SRQ-20), avaliação de nível intelectual das crianças e adolescentes (WASI) e quanto a personalidade (PIC-2 e EPQ-J). Foi realizada a análise dos aspectos de personalidade com as variáveis sociodemográficas, quais sejam: condições de saúde e nível socioeconômico das mães; sintomas de ansiedade da criança e quoeficiente intelectual. Os resultados apontaram para características de personalidade das crianças e adolescentes do GCLIN, um perfil retraído e reservado, no qual desconfiam dos impulsos do momento e procuram ambientes mais calmos, com evitação das interações com pares. Enquanto os jovens do GCON mantiveram presença de sintomas internalizantes e externalizantes dentro da média, com perfil mais falante, sociáveis e disponibilidade para fazer amigos e manter relações sociais. Ademais, verificou-se que problemas psicoemocionais das mães geram impactos na percepção que elas possuem sobre seus filhos, quanto a ansiedade e características de ajustamento; a partir disso, pensou-se em processos interventivos com as mães do GCLIN

This work proposed to compare the personalitydevelopment characteristics of children and adolescents diagnosed with Anxiety Disorder(ED) and a control group, composed of children and adolescents without any psychiatricdiagnosis. The sample was comprised of 92 subjects, 47 from the clinical group (GCLIN - 24children and adolescents, and 23 mothers) and 45 from the control group (GCON - 24children and adolescents, and 21 mothers), young people aged 8 to 17 years and 11 months.For the characterization of the subjects, the individuals underwent psychiatric investigation,intellectual level assessment and regarding the personality, in which the mothers responded tothe Personality Inventory for Children, second edition (PIC-2), which comprehensivelycontemplates the mapping of the children. dimensions of behavioral, emotional, cognitive andinterpersonal adjustment. Personality aspects were analyzed using sociodemographicvariables, namely: health conditions and socioeconomic status of the mothers; child anxietysymptoms and intellectual coefficient. The results pointed to personality characteristics ofchildren and adolescents at GCLIN, a withdrawn and reserved profile, in which they aresuspicious of the impulses of the moment and seek calmer environments, avoidinginteractions with peers. While the GCLIN youngsters, they maintained the presence ofinternalizing and externalizing symptoms within the average, with a more talkative, sociableprofile and availability to make friends and maintain social relationships. In addition, it wasfound that mothers' psycho-emotional problems have an impact on their perception of theirchildren, regarding anxiety and adjustment characteristics
