Vila operária

Workers village
Abstract in English
This work seeks, through a comprehensive approach, a view on the relationship between the subject and the place of life. It takes into account the experience in a workers' village and the interposition of the company as a substance that penetrates the structures of private life. The village, in this case, is a place of permanence (work, housing and community life) and of passage (the houses are the property of the company and the employees must leave them at the termination). This dynamic of permanence and passage gave rise to a master's study that understood the impacts related to the individual's identity at the time of retirement. The narratives of the group of subjects studied presented new research paths. One of them refers to the relationship between life experiences and the place of existence, which presented a certain state of suspension in relation to its place of life. The text, written in first voice, explores the view of the researcher-subject, who seeks through his life story and the oral narratives of the interviewees, to describe the physical-aesthetic, social, subjective and existential dimensions of the place. This description seeks to give visibility to the organization of space and existence in which one would enter a field of illusion, which configures the place as oblivion
