Abstract in English
The present dissertation deals with the relationship between institutional and pedagogical mechanisms of pre-university courses and the psychic suffering of students. Such relationships were systematized and reflected from an experience as a teacher of preparatory courses for entrance exams. This experience refers to Sociology and Philosophy classes, given over a period of approximately five years, in institutions that offer the types of courses mentioned. During these classes, it was common for some students to establish relationships between the concepts presented in the syllabus of these curricular components with their school routine. This study starts from the analytical perspective that demonstrates that such tensions are not just individual or isolated cases of suffering, but the result of a specific social conjuncture of the 21st century, in which the competition for the few places in institutions considered prestigious leads some adolescents to a relationship between psychic suffering and competition posed by these courses. It was found is some that the adaptation or coping strategies may suggest that a considerable group of students does not understand the pedagogical process in a passive and docile way. Institutional mechanisms that produce suffering were identified from student reports as well as different forms of suffering and student resistance skills, which ended up revealing several psychic tensions
