Keywords in Portuguese

Sublimação; Erotismo

Abstract in English
This research seeks to approach Jacques Lacan and Georges Bataille, in their respective concepts of sublimation and eroticism, uniting them through the excesses and incarnations of jouissance. The core of the research is to support the bodies eroticism as an eminent and unavoidable sublimation movement, which opens us up to contact and the weakening of identity. If, in Lacan, sublimation elevates the object to the dignity of the Thing, this work aims to recover the dignity of eroticism in its destituent presence, arguing that there we find the excesses that take us to the limits of our fantasies, where a field of shared experiences is open. It is proposed that eroticism would be the space par excellence of dispossession that tears apart the formal schematisms of the self, since it is in the body that the resonance of what is not exhausted in language erupts. Thus, here is proposed that eroticism should be elevated to the dignity of the Thing.
