Metapsicologia de Grupos
Psicanálise

Abstract in English
Amid the increase in drug use in Brazil, Therapeutic Communities (TCs) are considered an alternative of treatment by different spheres of government. In addition, according to a survey carried out by Datafolha, eight out of ten Brazilian adults approve involuntary hospitalization in these places, contrasting studies in this field. Recent surveys, accomplished by bodies that oversee health and human rights practices in the country, have identified reports of illtreatment in these institutions. The present study found that, despite the aforementioned researches tracing a pattern of functioning and profile of Brazilian TCs, they do not discuss the psychic aspects that are mobilized in this type of institution. For this, a case study was carried out with the possibility of deepening this dimension. A TC, which receives financial subsidies from the government of São Paulo and has characteristics of the national profile, was selected to conduct open interviews with therapists and inmates from that location. The material was submitted to a theoretical-psychoanalytical reflection based on the understanding of intersubjective psychic constitution
