Abstract in English
This search has collected remembrances about people in order to contribute to the studies of person memoty. They were four remembered persons (Alfredinho, Ute, Adilson and Eva) and they were eight rememberers. Each remembered person was found according to this criterion: someone who had made himself significantly, in the arendtian political sense. noticed in the family group, among close friends and also in the public sphere. For each remembered person, two deponents were interviewed: a man and a woman, and they were requested to recai! witnessed stories about the remembered person. Then, in those narratives, we identified some psychosocial traits that allow us to discuss this problem: how does person memoty work, what does it form into the rememberer and what does make remembered person memorable? We found out that memoty feels remembered persons as close and transcendente people: it is strictly organized according to a principie of intentionality, just as stated by phenomenology. Since then, we emphasize the following results: someone became memorable when, through his deeds and words, he moved an audience and certainly moved the rememberer: he inaugurated rich practices of moral and political sense, that is, virtuous practices; his examples interpellated and mobilized the rememberer, becoming a matter of contemplation (the contact with the distinction and singularity of the remembered person), and, still more, becoming a source of action that brings the rememberer to the manifestation o f his own distinction and singularity. A phenomenon seems to opera te in this process and it is the principie of personal causality, as Heider characterized it: people are felt as starting points, initiators, founders. The remanbrances of a striking person reorient the rememberer, but without ever making coincidence between one and another: the rememberer is brought to a kind of paradoxical imitation which is loose and attached to the remembered person. The striking person is someone who has contributed to moral or spiritual rescue of the rememberer, and this was reached through the exchange of gifts and through mutual inlluence, both pointing out the generosity ofthe remembered person as able to giving and receiving. The influence ofthe remembered person into rememberer's life, when it is revealed by narratives or stories, it seems to be extended to otbers, even tbose who were not directly touched by it: person memory multiplies its influence.
