Este trabalho visa a demonstrar as especificidades da historiografia psicanalítica a partir da história de uma figura um tanto marginalizada, Karen Horney. Apesar de já se saber que a História enquanto disciplina não é apenas a escrita de uma sequência de fatos, mas antes uma maneira de organizar determinada narrativa, fazemos um retorno aos primórdios da psicanálise e sua institucionalização para analisar um fenômeno comumente apontado por psicanalistas e historiadores deste campo: a exclusão de uma autora e suas contribuições. Estudiosos já chamaram este tipo de exclusão de repressão, recalque, morte pelo silêncio, entre outros tantos nomes na tentativa de compreender as influências, tanto do contexto sociopolítico quanto das mais sutis dimensões transferenciais na transmissão da psicanálise ao longo do tempo. Nesta tese, no entanto, utilizamos a noção de trauma em Sándor Ferenczi para dar conta do desafio de compreender a marginalização de uma psicanalista que teve voz ativa nos principais debates teórico-institucionais do campo, foi co-fundadora dos Institutos Psicanalíticos de Berlim e Chicago, questionou o falocentrismo da psicanálise, inserindo pautas feministas em suas teorizações; mas que teve sua figura e contribuições deixadas de lado por muito tempo. Para atingir esse objetivo, o texto divide-se em cinco capítulos, sendo o primeiro destinado a considerações de cunho epistemológico sobre a História, a Psicanálise e a historiografia psicanalítica. O segundo, terceiro e quarto capítulo, com discussões metapsicológicas e históricas, desenvolvem a ideia central da tese: o processo traumático do desmentido como chave interpretativa para os acontecimentos que levaram ao esquecimento de Karen Horney. Dessa forma, cada um desses capítulos destinou-se a fazer a transposição da teoria da traumatogênese ferencziana da clínica para a historiografia, dividindo-a em três tempos: a confusão de línguas; o testemunho; e o desmentido. Finalmente, o quinto capítulo apresenta os resultados e considerações finais da pesquisa, apontando futuras possibilidades de investigação na área

This work aims to demonstrate the specificities of psychoanalytic historiography based on the story of a somewhat marginalized figure, Karen Horney. Although it is already known that history as a discipline is not just the writing of a sequence of facts, but rather a way of organizing a given narrative, we return to the beginnings of psychoanalysis and its institutionalization to analyze a phenomenon commonly pointed out by psychoanalysts and historians of this field: the exclusion of an author and her contributions. Scholars have already called this type of exclusion repression, repression, death by silence, among many other names in an attempt to understand the influences, both of the socio-political context and of the more subtle transferential dimensions in the transmission of psychoanalysis over time. In this thesis, however, we used the notion of trauma in Sándor Ferenczi to address the challenge of understanding the marginalization of a psychoanalyst who had an active voice in the main theoretical-institutional debates in the field, co-founded the Psychoanalytic Institutes in Berlin and Chicago, questioned the phallocentrism of psychoanalysis, inserting feminist agendas in his theorizations; but that was left aside for a long time, along its contributions. To achieve this objective, the text is divided into five chapters, the first of which is aimed at epistemological considerations on History, Psychoanalysis and Psychoanalytic Historiography. The second, third and fourth chapter, with metapsychological and historical discussions, develop the central idea of the thesis: the traumatic process of denial as an interpretive key to the events that led to Karen Horney's oblivion. Thus, each of these chapters was intended to transpose the theory of ferenczian traumatogenesis from the clinic to the historiography, dividing it into three stages: the confusion of languages; the testimony; and the denial. Finally, the fifth chapter presents the results and final considerations of the research, pointing out future research possibilities in the area
