Keywords in Portuguese
Atenção flutuante
Bion
Paradoxo
Realidade psíquica
Técnica psicanalítica

Waiting and retreating: the tolerance of paradoxes in psychoanalytic clinic

Psychoanalytic technique
Abstract in English
This dissertation aims to weave a theoretical and clinical framework, taking as a reading operator the concept of tolerance of paradoxes, taking into account and expanding the following theoretical axes: the inspirations of the romantic movement for psychoanalysis, the beginnings of Freud's technical discoveries and the epistemological expansion of these by Bion. The concepts within this scope, arising from each observation point, will be braided in order to introduce the reader to a dialogical and transitive articulation between them. The result of this effort consists in a drawing of progressive evolutions in the observation of the tolerance of paradoxes in psychoanalytic clinic, both from the theoretical basis of the authors, and from Freud's "free floating attention" and Bion's avoidance of "memory, desire and understanding" states of mind. Considering that a theoretical work on the theory of technique cannot disregard the clinical work implied, three "clinical layers" were presented, distinct space-time cutouts from the psychoanalytic experience, in a way that the theory of technique and, more specifically, the observation of the tolerance of paradoxes, can be analyzed from different vertices, allowing the concepts raised do be updated in each experience
