Abstract in English
This study investigates the subjective impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic in Brazil through the analysis of dreams with awakening experiences collected during the period. The research aims to understand how contemporary malaise [Unbehagen] is subjectively expressed in dreams and develops a theoretical-methodological instrument to analyze the collected reports. Freud and Lacan's theories on dream awakening are reviewed, and a study is conducted on Freudian concept of malaise in light of reflections on the Brazilian cultural response to the pandemic. Through dream analysis, it was identified that malaise is written in dreams both through images and narratives of suffering that circulated discursively during the period, as well as through the formulation of logical judgments. This research is considered to have contributed to the psychoanalytic field by mapping the modes of suffering specific to the pandemic period and by developing theoretical and methodological insights.
