Abstract in English
Studies show that autoclitic behavior may function as a facilitator agent to the establishment of conditional discrimination and equivalence classes in matching to sample (MTS) activities. The proposal of this research was, through an intersubject multiple baseline design, to understand the possible effect of the assertion qualifying autoclitic is upon the performance of participants in MTS activities. The procedure was conduced on the basis of three groups of different stimuli that constituted three Training Trials and three Testing Trials: Training AB and BC and Testing AC and CA, Training AB and BC and Training AC and CA, and Training AB and BC and Testing AC and CA. 12 participants were needed to the experimental procedure: P1, P5 and P9 had the autoclitic variable inserted on Training AB/AB/AB; P2, P6 and P10 had it inserted on Training BC/BC/BC; P3, P7 and P11 had the autoclitic variable inserted on Testing AC/AC/AC and P4, P8 and P12, had it on Testing CA/CA/CA. The results showed that, excepting for P3 and P7 on Testing AC/CA and AC/CA, none of the participants had equivalence classes emerged. The autoclitic, possibly, didnt exerted the function of an autoclitic according to Skinners (1957) definition. Indeed, it served as a distractor stimulus, showing that verbal behavior in excess (talking throughout the procedure), actually disrupted the performance of the participants
