Estuda o processo de estruturação da violência nas instituições de contenção, prisão e manicômio; através do relato biográfico de um paciente que permaneceu enclausurado por 37 anos, na Casa de Detenção de São Paulo, Hospital do Tuquery e no Manicômio Judiciário do Estado de São Paulo, a análise dos registros em seu prontuário e dos resquícios de sua estória de vida, percebemos que as instituições procuraram domesticar e sujeitar o paciente às normas internas do convívio institucional conforme demonstrado nas obras de Foucault e Goffman. A evolução histórica do conceito de loucura até o de doença mental, a sua associação ao perigoso, do asilo à internação, as práticas de sujeição e disciplinarização do encarceramento, do suplício do corpo à restrição dos direitos, o uso do conceito de periculosidade como mantenedor de relações de dominação, o estigma e deterioração da identidade são apresentados nesta dissertação contextualizados na formação histórica das instituições carcerária e manicomial em nosso país, mais especificamente no Estado de São Paulo. Discutimos a construção do estereótipo de um sujeito violento reflexo das práticas institucionais e de manutenção de valores sociais vigentes

It studies the process of manufacture of the violence; through of the biography story of a patient who remained confined per 37 years, in the House of Detention of São Paulo, Hospital of the Juquery and in the Judiciary lunatic asylum of the State of São Paulo, analyzes it of the registers in its dossier and of the residue of its story of life, we perceive that institutions had looked for to domesticate and to subject the patient the internal norms of the demonstrated institutional convivial gathering as in the production of Foucault and Goffman. Evolution historical of the madness concept until of illness the mental one, its association to the dangerous one, of the asylum confines, practice them of subjection and disciplinary of the imprisonment, of it executes of the body restriction of the rights, the use of the concept of dangerousness as maintenance of report of domination, the stigma and deterioration of the identity they are presented in this dissertation contextually in formation historical of institutions would belonging to a jail and lunatic asylum in ours nation, more specifically in the State of São Paulo.
