No encalço das contribuições fulcrais de Michel Foucault acerca da noção de subjetivação, tomando-a como uma produção datada, contínua e historicamente forjada, em contraste com a noção de sujeito universal, metafísico e atemporal, esta investigação dedica-se a analisar a discursividade referente a certo ideário em torno do presente e do futuro daquilo que é comumente representado pelo termo homem. Para tanto, retomou-se, primeiro, o famigerado diagnóstico foucaultiano sobre a iminente morte do homem no livro As palavras e as coisas e, depois, o prognóstico de Gilles Deleuze que, ao revisitar a pista de Foucault sobre os limites da forma-homem duas décadas mais tarde, entreviu nos acontecimentos do fim do século XX a ocasião capaz de fissurar tal formação subjetiva e, quiçá, franquear a emergência de outra. Diante da questão da temporalidade, inerente a um conjunto discursivo sobre o homem proferido no passado, fez-se necessário operar de acordo com um duplo viés teóricometodológico inspirado no pensamento de Michel Foucault. De um lado, junto das noções de veridicção, problematização, acontecimento e, sobretudo, arquivo, tratou-se de recusar uma concepção de tempo calcada em atributos como linearidade, sucessão e causalidade, facultando uma analítica extemporânea com base na justaposição de múltiplas temporalidades. De outro, a fim de perspectivar o horizonte discursivo acerca do presente e do futuro da forma-homem, foi preciso recuar temporalmente: em vez de manter a mirada nos acontecimentos coetâneos, fez-se necessário voltar a mirada da investigação para a época logo após o anúncio da morte do homem, precisamente no ano de 1968, notabilizado tanto por ocasionar um sem-fim de acontecimentos de grande monta pelo mundo, como por irradiar toda sorte de análises e reflexões sobre o homem. Desta feita, o corpus do trabalho foi constituído por 1.681 reportagens de capa da revista Veja, tomando-a como caixa de ressonância fática dos discursos sobre o homem, desde sua primeira edição, em setembro de 1968, até a última publicação do ano 2000. Em um primeiro momento, as reportagens foram mobilizadas para alicerçar uma plataforma discursiva extensiva e longitudinal, por meio de um procedimento analítico inspirado no livro As palavras e as coisas, acerca dos deslocamentos das empiricidades do homem na qualidade de ser vivente que lida com seu corpo (vida), que organiza o trabalho e a produção (trabalho), e que fala e se comunica (linguagem), com vistas a dimensionar as mutações das práticas sociais e dos modos existenciais no decurso de pouco mais de três décadas. Em seguida, o arquivo foi mobilizado para compor uma espécie de inventário topológico das temporalidades aí em causa, objetivando dar a ver os diagnósticos-prognósticos sobre o presente e o futuro do homem, bem como perscrutar sua lida diante dos acontecimentos que ensejavam anunciações de futuro, dos mais ufanos e celebrados aos mais vilipendiados e aviltados. Como saldo analítico da investigação, desponta uma engrenagem de governamento dos homens que opera sobremaneira pelos imperativos autonomia e fluxo em detrimento das noções de determinismo/subordinação e fronteira/imobilidade; termos cujo significado era constantemente atualizado e indexado até chegarem às acepções atuais. Verificou-se, igualmente, se tratar de um governamento que, imantado a uma operatividade ressignificada do tempo futuro, visou entrever o porvir do homem, de modo a não deixar a forma-homem arrefecer. In pursuit of Michel Foucault's key contributions on the notion of subjectivation, taking it as a dated, continuous and historically forged production, in contrast to the notion of universal, metaphysical and timeless subject, this investigation is dedicated to analyzing the discursivity concerning a certain ideology around the present and the future of what is commonly represented by the term man. In order to do so, the famous Foucauldian diagnosis of the imminent death of man in the book The Order of Things was taken up again, and then, the prognosis of Gilles Deleuze who, when revisiting Foucault's clue about the limits of the manform two decades later, glimpsed in the events of the end of the 20th century the opportunity capable of cracking such a subjective formation and, perhaps, opening the emergence of another one. Faced with the question of temporality, inherent to a discursive set about man uttered in the past, it was necessary to operate according to a double theoretical-methodological bias, inspired by the thought of Michel Foucault. On the one hand, along with the notions of veridiction, problematization, event and, above all, archive, it was a matter of rejecting a conception of time based on attributes such as linearity, succession and causality, providing an extemporaneous analysis based on the juxtaposition of multiple temporalities. On the other hand, in order to put into perspective the discursive horizon about the present and the future of the man-form, it was necessary to go back in time: instead of keeping an eye on contemporary events, it was necessary to return the gaze of the investigation's to the time immediately after the announcement of the death of man, precisely in the year 1968, notable both for causing an endless number of events of great importance around the world, and for irradiating all sorts of analyzes and reflections on man. This time, the corpus of the work consisted of 1,681 cover stories from Veja magazine, taking it as a phatic resonance box of discourses about man, from its first edition, in September 1968, until the last publication in the year 2000. At first, the reports were mobilized to support an extensive and longitudinal discursive platform, through an analytical procedure inspired by the book The Order of Things, around the displacements of man's empiricities as a living being who deals with his body (life), which organizes labor and production (work), and which speaks and communicates (language), aiming to scale the changes in social practices and existential modes over the course of little more than three decades. Then, the archive was mobilized to compose a kind of topological inventory of the temporalities in question, aiming to show the diagnostic-prognostics about the present and the future of man, as well as to scrutinize his dealings with the events that gave rise to announcements of the future, from the most vaunted and celebrated to the most vilified and debased. As an analytical balance of the investigation, a mechanism for the governance of men emerges that operates largely through the imperatives of autonomy and flow to the detriment of the notions of determinism/subordination and border/immobility; terms whose significance was constantly updated and indexed until reaching current meanings. It was also verified, likewise, that it was a government that, magnetized to a re-signified operativity of the future time, aimed to glimpse the future of man, so as not to let the man-form quench. Such government, the soul manager of the future, would aim at nothing other than operating the maintenance of the man-form with the goal of not allowing its expiration date to expire; a government of the future, in short
