Abstract in English
The general objective of this research was to verify the inclusion and/or discrimination of students with disabilities in Physical Education classes in common classes. The specific objectives were to verify: the preference or rejection of colleagues about students with disabilities; the occurrence of bullying and/or prejudice in relation to these students in Physical Education classes and how they manifest themselves; the conception that pedagogical coordinators and teachers have about inclusion, bullying and prejudice in Physical Education classes; the perception that teachers have about the inclusion; the pedagogical planning proposed by the coordinators considering the diversity of students and the forms of work (teaching performance) of teachers and their expectations with students with disabilities. For this, this study was conducted with students in the 8th/9th grade of elementary school in two schools, one public and one private in the city of São Paulo and their respective pedagogical coordinators, physical education and mathematics teachers. As instruments, a proximity scale between students (sociogram) was used, with the purpose of verifying the degree of preference/rejection of students with disabilities in comparison to other classmates and semi-structured interviews with pedagogical coordinators and teachers. The results obtained with the analysis of the proximity scales between students applied in the two schools (public and private) showed that most students with disabilities (five of the total of eight) suffer rejection by peers in being together in certain situations, among them in school physical education classes. Through the analysis of interviews with pedagogical coordinators and teachers, we concluded that bullying and prejudice, as forms of violence, negatively interfere in the inclusive process of students with disabilities in physical education classes, and may characterize discrimination.
