Abstract in English
This dissertation thesis follows the path of Jacques Rancière, Chantal Mouffe, and Ernesto Laclau in analyzing the concept of politics as the name of a specific form of confrontation between individuals. This is a confrontation about the very meaning of what the relationships are between these individuals and about their role in a society. We will analyze politics using Rancières concepts of police, politics, distribution of the common and distribution of the sensible, as well as Chantal Mouffe, and Ernesto Laclaus concepts of politics and equivalence. In the first part of this work, we will assess these philosophers works to define what phenomenon we are discussing. In the second part, we will evaluate the phenomena presented in the philosophical part of the dissertation from a psychoanalytical point of view, evaluating Freuds theories and their developments as proposed by German critical thinker Herbert Marcuse, French psychoanalyst Jean Laplanche, and Argentine psychoanalyst León Rozítchner. Our hypothesis is that politics is a life and death confrontation between conflicting worldviews that result in specific forms of subjectification and of forming the masses.
