Abstract in Portuguese
A proposta deste estudo é adaptar e investigar as evidências das propriedades psicométricas do Test of Self-Conscious Affect for Children (TOSCA-C).

Abstract in English
The purpose of this study is to adapt and investigate the evidence on the psychometric properties of the Test of Self-Conscious Affect for Children (TOSCA-C). To this end, we carried out a scoping review, with the aim of identifying instruments for measuring moral emotions in children over the last 10 years. The review resulted in the selection of fourteen articles. We also adapted and investigated the psychometric evidence of the TOSCA-C, which assesses the emotions of guilt and shame, for use with Brazilian children. 779 children participated in the study, aged between 8 and 12 years old (Mage = 9.87; SD = 1.40), 50.06% female and 69.32% from public schools, in the interior of the State of São Paulo. Paul. Evidence of content validity was verified; for the validity of the internal structure, confirmatory factor analysis was carried out for each subscale of the instrument and a two-factor model was also tested with the guilt and shame subscales. Its invariance depending on the sex of the participants was also investigated using multigroup confirmatory factor analysis. To provide evidence of validity based on the response pattern to the items, the Threshold values were studied. Convergent validation was carried out with the TOSCA-C bifactor scale of shame and guilt, with the three subscales of the EMEC and the unidimensional CDI scale. The adapted TOSCA-C scale presents good evidence of validity and adequate psychometric properties to measure guilt and shame in Brazilian children.
