Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo aplicar o método de corantes traçadores fluorescentes nos sistemas cársticos Pérolas-Santana, Grilo e Zezo, assim como, na Bacia do rio Furnas, localizados na Bacia do rio Betari, Município de lporanga, Estado de São Paulo. Este método visou testar as seguintes conexões hidráulicas: (1) sumidouro no córrego dos Mendes, próximo à gruta das Pérolas/ressurgência na caverna de Santana; (2) sumidouro no córrego Consteca/ressurgências nas grutas do Grilo e do Zezo; (3) sumidouro à montante do rio Furnas/ressurgência na gruta do Grilo, assim como, ligações entre si. Através da comprovação destas conexões foi possível estabelecer as rotas de fluxo da água subterrânea nestes sistemas. O trabalho foi desenvolvido em duas etapas principais. Na primeira desenvolveu-se a técnica em laboratório, visando estabelecer o método e obter um treinamento deste. Foram testados captores de rhodamina-WT (RWT) e investigou-se a detecção do corante traçador fluorescente em variadas concentrações, com diversos eluentes, simulando resultados de possíveis situações de campo. A segunda etapa teve como objetivo aplicar o método no estudo de drenagens cársticas. Desta maneira, foi possível estabelecer as seguintes rotas de fluxo da área investigada: ( 1 ) no sistema cárstico Pérolas-Santana a conexão entre o sumidouro do córrego Mendes (gruta das Pérolas) até a ressurgência na caverna de Santana (córrego Roncador), passando pelo córrego subterrâneo da gruta Tobias; (2) Na Bacia do rio Furnas foi possível estabelecer duas rotas de fluxo subterrâneo, conectadas entre si (ao contrário do que era suposto, com base nos divisores topográficos), entre sumidouros superficiais e as ressurgências nas grutas do Grilo e do Zezo. Dentre os vários testes realizados alguns tiveram como objetivo a construção de curvas de recuperação do corante traçador fluorescente, junto à ressurgência das cavernas Tobias e de Santana, com o propósito de relacionar o comportamento destas curvas com características morfológicas do sistema de condutos.

The aim of this research was the application of the Rhodamine-WT dye tracing method on the Pérolas-Santana, Grilo and Zezo karst systems, and in Furnas river of the Betari river basin, lporanga County, São Paulo State, in Brazil. The maim purpose of this was to establish the hydraulic connections between: (1) Pérolas cave input point/Santana cave output point; (2) Consteca Creek input point/Grilo and Zezo caves output points; (3) upstream Furnas river input point/Grilo cave output point and their related connections. Based on the establishment of these connections it was possible to determine the groundwater flow routes of these conduit systems. The research was carried out in two main stages. ln the first one, the technique was tested in the laboratory using charcoal detectors for Rhodamina-WT (RWT), detecting the dye tracer in various concentrations, with different elutants, and with simulations of different situations which could occur in the field work. The second stage was the application of this method in karst drainage systems of the Ribeira Karst. According to the results of the field work it was possible to establish the following groundwater flow routes: (1) the connection between the Mendes Creek input point (Pérolas Cave) and Santana Cave output point (Roncador Creek), encompassing the underground creek of the Tobias cave; (2) in the Furnas river basin it was possible to establish two interconnected routes for the underground flow, (contrary to what was expected, based on the topographic divides), between surface input and output points of the Grilo and Zezo caves. Among the various tests carried out, some of them was performed to obtain dye recovery curves of Rhodamine-WT, in the Tobias and Santana caves output points. This was done with aim of obtaining the relationship between the behaviour of these curves with the morphologic characteristics of the conduit system.
