Abstract in English
The 6 deep wells existing at the campus "Armando Salles of Oliveira" of the University of São Paulo presents a potential yield of supplying part of its drinkable water demand. Four (4) of these deep wells were constructed at a sedimentary area, and two (2) deep wells at a crystalline context. Seeking to establish the Well Protection Perimeters of the deep wells of the sedimentary context, a three-dimensional numeric modelling of the sedimentary aquifer of the area was made. The modelled area is constituted of 4 aquifer units: two sedimentary units (superior and inferior), weathered layer and crystalline rocks. These present a predominant underground flow from the Southwest to the Northeast. The area is limited at the Northeast part by Pinheiros River, at the East and Southeast by the Pirajussara Creek, the North and Northwest by the Jaguaré Creek and the South and Southwest by a topographic height. The model was calibrated and validated for a 10 years period. Using the particles path method: a) -an Alert Against Pollution Perimeter (PAP) was established, corresponding to a 50 days period of particles transit at the saturated zone (according to the São Paulo State Groundwater Protection Law); b) -a Prevention Perimeter (PP), corresponding to a 150 days period of particles transit at the saturated zone and: c) -a Contribution Perimeter (PC), corresponding to the capture zone of the referred well considering an equilibrium regime. The dynamics of the probable pollutants in aquifer system was evaluated, considering both, with or without the influence of pumping. Protection measures and control of the groundwater resources were defined.
