A mecânica analítica clássica tem passado, nas últimas décadas, por um processo de reformulação de suas bases matemáticas. Nosso objetivo principal nesta dissertação é estender essa reformulação à dedução das equações de Lagrange contida no tratado Mécanique Analytique, do próprio J.-L. Lagrange. A dissertação está dividida em duas partes. Na primeira apresentamos a dedução das equações de Lagrange segundo o formalismo matemático da geometria diferencial. Na segunda parte estendemos os resultados obtidos anteriormente a uma classe mais geral de sistemas mecânicos e vnculos.
