Abstract in English
The development of Forensic Botany and Palynology in Brazil depends on organizing methods that encompass the peculiarities of ecosystems and the anthropic occupation of the territory. The high frequency of sugarcane fields as a crime scene in the state of São Paulo requires that crime scene investigators study how botanical remains and trace-matter are disposed in these sites, in order to results from the crime scene examination can be interpreted and compared to suspect garments. For this purpose, simulations of crimes in sugarcane fields were carried out, followed by the application of forensic techniques, botanical and palynological examinations, including morphology, anatomy, palynology and analysis of carbonized particles, in the sites and author garments. The results promoted the organization of fundamentals for analysis, interpretation and comparison of sites with garments, as well as the limits to consider remains as evidence, in order to avoid bias and conclusions that do not find scientific support, using evaluation based on the likelihood ratio.
