Abstract in English
This thesis aims to identify and recount, from the perspective of the imagination, the "significant instants" of athletes who had their Olympic trajectory interrupted due to some event (accident or degenerative disease) and recreated themselves as Paralympic athletes. The method used is that of Biographical Narratives, which allows the athlete to organize and narrate his story respecting the representation he brings in his memory. With this, it was possible to point out the moments mentioned about sports initiation and career as an Olympic athlete; the rupture of this trajectory; the confrontation and its recreation as a Paralympic athlete; in addition to functional classification, a necessary process to be recognized as Paralympics. The athletes studied were: Rodolpho Riskalla, from equestrianism; Susana Schnarndorf, from swimming; Jairo Klug, from rowing; Tuany Barbosa, Elizabeth Gomes and Gustavo Henrique Araújo, from athletics. Everyone necessarily attended some edition of the Paralympic Games, after the break in their Olympic career. The narratives when captured come in a harsh way, full of questions, pain and even revolts. Dipped in hermeneutics, they were worked on in the philosophy scenario, having the harmony of the sciences with art, mythology, literature, and poetry. The approximation of the narratives with mythological or literary characters was a way of metaphorizing the harshness of this glimpse between finitude, in limiting disability; and eternity, in the feats that sport confers on them. Therefore, returning them to the protagonists through the literary poetic prism is the biggest challenge; that of softening the reality that cannot be changed. The results revealed in the form of biographical portraits make up the athletes' life and career memory and provoke an identification of the reader, especially for those who have gone through similar situations. The method can also serve as a guide for research on themes highlighted by the narrators and brings to light the analysis of the instant in its full axiology
