Abstract in English
This experiment tested three teaching methodologies, the part method as a Game in the learning of technical skills of soccer as well as the results of these techniques in intergroup games. The sampling comprised one hundred and fifty students from Colégio Santa Cruz, a private high school of the city of São Paulo. The subjects were white male, average age 10 years, high-middle socioeconomic level and without previous experience in playing soccer. They were divided into three groups of equal number of elements, two of them being experimental groups and the other one, a control group. The experimental group I underwent a soccer program using the part method techniques, and the experimental group II was subjected to the same program but guided by the whole part method techniques. The control group did not have any programmed guidance in the development of technical skills. The subjects practiced soccer as a game only, aiming at the learning of the principles just by playing the game itself. The experiment was carried out during the second semester of 1980, and the results obtained through the application of tests showed that the three teaching methodology were efficient in the learning process of technical abilities although the part method had demonstrated a greater evolution than the whole method as a game. In analyzing the results of intergroup games it became evident that there was an equivalence of results in the number of gained points when the teams using the part method and the whole method as a game were directly confronted. In comparing the teaching methodologies, data obtained pointed out significant differences in favor of the whole-part method regarding technical tests and intergroup games in relation to the part method and the whole methods as a game
