A presente dissertação de mestrado efetivou o estabelecimento de texto fidedigno, ordenação e anotação de 26 cartas e telegramas trocados entre o polígrafo modernista Mário de Andrade (1893-1945) e o crítico literário Álvaro Lins (1912-1970), no período de 1942 a 1945. As missivas do autor de Macunaíma conservam-se, em fac-símiles, no Arquivo-Museu de Literatura Brasileira da Fundação Casa de Rui Barbosa (AMLB-FCRB); as mensagens assinadas por Álvaro Lins, em manuscritos, encontram-se no fundo Mário de Andrade, no patrimônio do Arquivo do Instituto de Estudos Brasileiros da Universidade de São Paulo (IEB- USP). O estudo introdutório recuperou a gênese da correspondência, seus principais temas e a especificidade dos vínculos intelectuais constituídos pelos autores. A anotação das cartas buscou restituir aspectos históricos e bio-bibliográficos, ampliando a compreensão do diálogo epistolar.

This masters thesis carried out the establishment of a reliable text, the arrangement and the annotation of 26 letters and telegrams exchanged between the modernist polygraph Mário de Andrade (1893-1945) and the literary critic Álvaro Lins (1912-1970) in the period from 1942 to 1945. The missives of Macunaíma's author are kept, in facsimiles, at the Archive-Museum of Brazilian Literature (AMLB) of Casa de Rui Barbosa Foundation (FCRB); the messages signed by Álvaro Lins, in manuscripts, are preserved at Mário de Andrade's Fonds, which belong to the Archive of the Institute of Brazilian Studies of the University of São Paulo (IEB- USP). The introductory study recovered the genesis of the correspondence, its main themes and the specificities of the intellectual bonds among the authors. The annotation of the letters aimed to reconstruct some historical, biographical and bibliographical aspects, broadening the understanding of the epistolar dialogue.
