O presente trabalho tem como objetivo pesquisar o conceito de preservação patrimonial no pensamento de Waldisa Rússio Camargo Guarnieri (1935-1990), investigando-o a partir da documentação presente em seu arquivo pessoal. A pesquisa tem a intenção de compreender, a partir de uma das figuras mais relevantes para a consolidação da museologia brasileira entre as décadas de 1970 e 1980, como se constituiu um dos conceitos-chave para as instituições de preservação e memória: a preservação patrimonial. A discussão aqui apresentada se baseia na compreensão de que um arquivo é um tipo de reflexo de seu produtor, a partir do estabelecimento da ligação entre o documento e sua atividade produtora. A ideia é que seja possível compreender a formulação de um conceito dentro do processo intelectual de um indivíduo a partir da documentação deixada em seu arquivo pessoal, levando em conta não somente pressupostos teóricos deixados por uma produção escrita formulada e publicada por essa pessoa, mas também por atividades práticas de seu dia a dia profissional.

The present work aims to research the concept of patrimonial preservation on the thoughts of Waldisa Rússio Camargo Guarnieri (1935-1990), investigating it through the documentation from her personal papers. The investigation intends to understand, from one of the most relevant figures for the consolidation of Brazilian museology between the 1970s and 1980s, how one of the key concepts for preservation and memory institutions was constituted: patrimonial preservation. The discussion presented here is based on the understanding that a record is a type of reflection of its producer and establishes the link between the document and its producing activity. From this study, it will be possible to understand the formulation of a concept within the intellectual process of an individual set up on the documentation left in their personal archive, considering not only theoretical assumptions left by a written production formulated and published by that person but also by practical activities of their professional routine.
