Abstract in English
This Masters thesis analyzes, through the prism of history of poetry, poetic articulations in compositions produced or sent to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, during 1822 and 1825, during the processes of independence of the Portuguese America and the early formation of the Empire of Brazil. The main focus of this study is the relation of those objects with the concept of experience, a prime source for the political discourse of the time, and with formalized power of the state. This work is based on 50 poetic objects (sonnets, hymns, odes, eulogies, epistles, among others), most of them anonymous, found in the periodicals A Estrela Brasileira, Correio do Rio de Janeiro, Diario Fluminense, O Spectador Brasileiro, and O Volantim. Periodico Diario. The objects are analyzed as a conjunct and in readings which highlight their specificities and differences, pursuing the elaboration of a coherent narrative that allows newer ways of historiographical thinking.
