Abstract in English
This work aims to analyze the sketchbooks of Brazilian artist Anita Malfatti referring to her stay in Paris between 1923 and 1928 by the Artistic Pensionato of São Paulo, all protected by the Estudos Brasileiros Institute of the University of São Paulo. From diving in the many pages drawn of the intimate universe of the artist's creation, other goals could be achieved. First, the search has resumed debate on the direction of production Anita Malfatti post 1917 comprising this period as a kind of experimental laboratory in the light of a particular "Return to Order", which precedes what would do years later in Paris. Next, the research sought to reconstruct the trajectory of the artist in the French capital, recovering her passage by the academies and art studios, fundamental course to understand his pictorial production in the period in question. However, a more detailed analysis, as here defined as their daily notebooks-creation, enabled us to understand her major works, specifically, A mulher do Pará, La rentrée, Puritas and Ressureição de Lázaro, from the dialogue with the outlines of the works present in them. As regards the Resurrection of Lazarus screen, the research rebuilt his path of creation, through the articulation of a personal nature of the artist's own documentation that involves not only the sketchbooks, object of study of this work, as her correspondence with the writer Mário de Andrade, and a series of photographs of famous Italian paintings shot by the artist herself, important references in the Italian Trecento and Quattrocento for his work in Paris. This work, however, for being seen as work-thesis to the final stage, won an important place in this work, since it is set to her large pictorial project, which starts still gives the first year in which the artist there and its conclusion was the same year of his return to Brazil. Thus, it is a research that seeks to understand the works of the 1920s the artist in the light of their creative process, whose registrations witness the complex path turn out to be of the paintings in which the artist consciously dialogue with the vanguard and tradition.
