Abstract in English
Offshore Engineering applications such as the design of seawater intake risers (SWIRs) used to transport cold water from large depths, involve structures subject to fluid-structure interactions resulting from the external and internal flows. Using a threedimensional analytical formulation, the present work aims to present a dynamic analysis of a cantilevered flexible pipe, with a rigid ballast at the lower end, aspirating water and under Vortex-Induced Vibrations (VIV). This model was derived through the Modular Modeling Methodology (MMM), combined with the Galerkin projections, resulting in a Reduced-Order Modeling (ROM). A case study is presented, in which the results obtained through ROM are compared with those obtained experimentally and numerically, via commercial Orcaflex software. The proposed model showed better adherence with the experimental results compared to the Orcaflex software, although both numerical models did not fully recover the dynamics presented in the experimental model. Numerical analyzes revealed that the influence of the internal aspirating flow on the VIV phenomenon under the analyzed conditions is marginal, confirming the results obtained experimentally.
