Abstract in English
The increased use of a mechanical circulatory support devices (SCM) brings with it the need for adequate means of energizing it. Among them, the development of a transcutaneous energy transmitters (TET), that is characterized by the minimization of physiological risks (infection due to the existence of percutaneous cables) and physical restrictions (lack of mobility and galvanic isolation between patient and electrical network). Several studies on active implantable devices (AIMDs) have observed possible problems related to electromagnetic interference, thus it is important to emphasize the importance of this requirement to ensure the proper operation and safety of equipment and accessories that assist the functioning of artificial organs and support life. The purpose of this work is to present a procedure necessary to evaluate the electromagnetic compatibility of the TETs used for the activation of mechanical circulatory support devices. A proposal of the standardization of equipment arrangement and testing is also a part of this work. The proposed test procedures and configurations were based on the evaluation of the specific requirements of the TET system, the current requirements and configurations indicated in the literature for electrical and electronic equipment and the similarities of applications of electromedical systems and equipment. The work will present the main regulatory requirements, methods of emission measurements conducted in direct and indirect ways, in addition to the study of most probable site of implantation of the system using computed tomography. Furthermore, it contains the study of optimal conductivity for tests in torso simulator. Finally, the method with two different TET systems is tested and the main discrepancies between the proposed measurement method and the traditional method are shown.
