Abstract in English
Given the current scenario of supplying electricity to offshore oil and gas platforms in the Santos Basin, Brazil, this dissertation aims to contextualize and confront the most commonly used technical solution for local energy generation regarding the use of gas turbines that have intrinsic characteristics as low energy efficiency rates and significant emissions of greenhouse gases to the atmosphere. Although regulatory guidelines have already been implemented in Europe aiming to drastically reduce the pollution generated by gas turbines on platforms with the same purpose, such regulation is in embryonic parameters from the perspective of the national harvest. In this context, this dissertation confronts such solution based on the recommendation of electricity transmission through submarine cables from the coast, that is, through the English concept called power from shore (PFS). Furthermore, this work aims to determine typical single line for generic platforms of the Santos Basin, analyzing the dispositions of the loads for further presentation and analysis of new proposals for technical solutions related to electric power supply using transmission via alternating or direct current by submarine cables for future applications. The results allow us to identify the employable technologies according to each specific field of the Santos Basin, and try to list any advantages and disadvantages of the proposed applications.
