Este trabalho apresenta um novo modelo de avaliação do nível do serviço de sistemas de transporte coletivo. O enfoque deste modelo está baseado na hipótese que o nível de serviço é uma medida da qualidade de operação do transporte coletivo urbano. Como qualidade é um conceito subjetivo deve, portanto, ser avaliada por métodos psicométricos. Este modelo usa uma escala de atitude do tipo likert no processo de entrevista dos usuários e os dados obtidos são tratados por métodos multivariados (análise fatorial, de cluster e discriminante) para gerar indicador global que agregue todos os aspectos oriundos do sistema e segundo os diferentes padrões de qualidade dos usuários. Para a caracterização do usuário em classes homogêneas foi empregado o critério da Associação Brasileira dos Anunciantes e da Associaão Brasileira dos Institutos de Pesquisa de Mercado (ABA/ABIPEME).

This paper presents a new modelo f level of service evaluation for Urban Transports Systems. This model is based in the Idea that the level of service is a measure of the Urban Transportation operationss quality. As quality is a subjective concept, it must be evaluated by psychometric methods. This model uses a Likerts attitude scaling through users interview and the data are analized with multivariate methods (factor analysis, clustering and discrininant), in orderto obtain a global indicator that incorporates all the aspects from the systems perceivedby the different users quality patterns The users characterization by homogeneous s categories is done by methods from the Brazilian Association of the Announcer and The Brazilian Association of The Institute of Markets Research.
