Neste trabalho foram estudadas formas de se aplicar a teoria de conjuntos difusos ao controle de processos de engenharia química, através de um controlador integral cuja constante pode ser variada de acordo com as regras de um sistema especialista. Cada regra do sistema especialista baseia-se em uma frase em linguagem natural que se pretende modelar com o uso de ferramentas da logica difusa. A medida em que se quer que o controlador tenha um determinado comportamento expressa-se isto em linguagem natural e modela-se esta regra, incluindo-a no sistema especialista. Controladores deste tipo foram usados neste trabalho para controle de Ph, reatores CSTR e colunas de destilação além de ser usado para o controle de funções de transferência.

This work to aply the fuzzy sets theory to the chemical engineering process control, through a integral controler, wich constant was varied depending on the rules of a expert system. Each rule the expert system is based on a sentence in natural language thet one intend to model using fuzzy logic. As long one want the controler to behave in a way, one express that in natural language and models this rule, including that rule on the expert system. Such controlers were used in this work for pH control, CSTR reactors and distillation columns, including the control of transfer functions.
