Title in Portuguese
Análise hidrodinâmica de embarcações fluviais.
Keywords in Portuguese
Embarcações fluviais

Abstract in English
This paper presents a few procedures and methods used tro support the project of inland vessels: tugs, barges and self-propelled ship. Through the comparison of formulas used by the several authors Latorre, Bari and IPT, new relevant formulas and concepts were obtained that can apply immediatly to the Brazilian inland navigation. The shallow water phenomenon was considered through a study of different formulations proposed by different authors, these formulations were not satisfactory to solve the problem due to the fact that they did not take into account non-linear effects inherent to the phenomena described in this paper. It is proposed a correction of these formulations through a similar term to the non-linear theory of shallow Waters effects. In order to validate the different formulations, the experimental results from a reduced model and prototype of the Araguaia Rivers Research Convoy were used.
