Title in Portuguese
Estudo do posicionamento dinâmico para plataforma semi-submersível.
Keywords in Portuguese
Estruturas semissubmersíveis

Abstract in English
The problem of dynamics positioning systems (DPS) for semi-submersible platforms is focused. As the first step in this study, it is developed a mathematical model of the platform motions at sea, considering the environment effects, such as winds, waves and currents. Functional and modelling aspects of the sensors and propulsion devices, usually used in DPS are presented, for the sake of better comprehension of the problem. Assuming that all state variables are available., the control law for DPS is developed, using modern control techniques for deterministic systems. Using similar procedure and introducing the concept of the dynamic observer, it is analysed the case where some of the state variables are not available. Finally, in order to evaluate the controller performance, simulation tests are performed and their results presented and analysed.
