O presente trabalho faz uma verificação de todos os fatores que podem interferir ou influir no desenvolvimento do projeto e construção de um navio e, de posse desses fatores, faz um levantamento das ferramentas e das práticas de como trabalhá-los. Assim, são verificados os métodos de atendimento das vontades do cliente e os métodos e práticas de redução de custos e de prazos. Baseado nesses métodos e usando o conceito de engenharia simultânea, é demonstrada a importância de se integrar o projeto às outras atividades do estaleiro, o que resulta em reduções de custo e prazo. Dentro desse princípio, é proposto um método de planejamento da seqüência de execução das atividades de projeto, que leva em consideração a inter-relação entre as atividades de projeto e as demais atividades do estaleiro, além de analisar a inter-relação entre as diversas atividades de projeto.

This report lists all the elements that can interfere in a ship design and construction, and investigate the tools and practices used to manager those elements. So, the client satisfaction, cost reduction and schedule reduction methods are considered. Based in those methods, and using Concurrent Engineering concept, the report demonstrates the importance of design team and other shipyard teams integration for cost and schedules reduction. Considering this, a method is proposed to plan the design activities, considering the relation between all the design activities, and, also, between those design activities and others shipyard activities
