No projeto de um ROV, o comportamento hidrodinâmico afeta e dita as soluções do projeto do ponto de vista tanto do controle do ROV como de sua estabilidade dinâmica. Devido a sua importância, a obtenção das propriedades hidrodinâmicas carece de uma ferramenta confiável desde o início do projeto, principalmente pelo fato de a geometria do ROV ser composta por corpos bojudos. Buscou-se aliar o uso de bancos de dados de coeficientes hidrodinâmicos a técnicas de inteligência artificial para obter-se um método que estimasse as características hidrodinâmicas levando em conta a interferência de um corpo sobre o outro. Alguns testes realizados mostram que esta metodologia pode ser implementada com sucesso e com uma pequena margem de erro (em torno de 5%). Assim, esta ferramenta pode auxiliar não só no projeto do ROV, mas também facilitar a obtenção de características hidro-aerodinãmicas para uma estrutura composta por corpos bojudos.

In any ROV Project, the hydroidynamic behavior affects and determines as well the control as the dynamics stability solutions of the ROV Project. Since the hydrodynamics properties are most important, they have to be established from the start through a trustful methodology, specially since the ROV geometry is composed of bluff bodies. Hydrodynamic coeficiente data bases, together with common artificial intelligence techniques, were used in order to obtain a hydrodynamic characteristic estimate method which would take into consideration the interference of any body on the others. Incipient experimental results obtained up to now show this methodology to be satisfactory, with a minor error around 5%. The developed not only can be useful for ROV projecting, but also simplifies hydrodynamic characteristic estimates for any structure composed of bluff bodies.
