Abstract in English
This work presents the fundamentals of size-mass balance models for conventional ball milling. Based in these fundamentals, models were developed for talc grinding using pebbles in batch and continuous scales. The studies involved samples of talc from Parana State of the following mines: Ferradinho, Flor, Barra Moura, Pinheiro 3 and Armando. The results evidenced that the specific rate of breakage function varied according to the time of grinding. The simulated values were in agrément to those obtained experimentally, confirming the validity of the models.
