Title in Portuguese
Análises químicas na engenharia mineral.
Keywords in Portuguese
Engenharia mineral

Abstract in English
Chemical analysis play a very important role in the mining and minerals industries. This application of analytical chemistry presents some difficulties, as involve mineral species of difficult solution, many elements and wide concentration ranges. The improvements achieved in analytical instrumentation have been doing increasingly performance in results, enabling better controlo f minerals exploitation activities and processing. One of the works performed in the last years a hydrometallurgical plant control was choosen as a case study to highlight the importance and difficulties of the chemical analysis, starting from ores and following their beneficiation process till the refined product.
