Abstract in English
The dissertation aims to map the investigation trends of academic research that address the Occupation Movements in 2015 and 2016 in Brazil and the Chilean student movement, specifically the waves of 2006 and 2011, highlighting the works that present contributions to the field of communication. The empirical object investigated is a body of literature on the themes produced between the years 2011 and 2021. In methodological terms, the bibliographical research approach is used, with a comparative bias, in order to understand the context of production and the communicational dimensions perceived in the works in question. Aiming to counteract the techno-reductionist and technodeterminist tendencies, we seek in Morin's complexity theory (2006) and in Jesús Martín-Barbero's 4th Methodological Map of Mediations, analytical subsidies for the content analysis of 23 productions. Based on the mediations presented and reflected on a comparative map, a certain deepening in the mediations was identified, with a greater occurrence of submediations, in relation to the studies about Chile, and a greater variety in the combination of mediations in the texts about Brazil.
