Abstract in English
Starting from different perspectives, this thesis purposes a critical analysis about the narratives of individual local inhabitants who live in a specific space in the São Paulo City Downtown. Ones who live in regular houses and favelas. Regular workers and homeless people. In order to identify the spoken and unspoken narratives expressed at social representations of the interviewees, talking mappings were performed, which mean graphical representations about what these groups identify and acknowledge as territories and territorialities of this neighborhood. The basis of this work lies on the social-historical aspects and elements about the way that districts were built and how the population distribution across the urban territories was done, as well as the space segregations and triggered vulnerabilities evidenced by the common representations of such places. This study purposes the adoption of what we call new narratives for considered cities, in opposite of people's stupefaction towards this social fabric.
