Keywords in Portuguese

humanização de marcas
Influência digital virtual

Abstract in English
Based on bibliographical research and content analysis, this case study focuses on the advertising character Lu do Magalu. It is dedicated to describing, from the perspective of Morin's paradigm of complexity, the elements that compose her: digital influence, as seen in the works of Karhawi (2020) and Terra (2021); new humanities, as described by Santaella (2022) and virtuality, combining Lévy (2011) and Virk (2021). It also describes Lu's performance as a humanizing element within the Magazine Luiza ecosystem, a Brazilian retail chain undergoing a digital transformation process. A categorization of the different virtual characters, based on Perez's (2011) mascot taxonomy, completes the dissertation.
