Abstract in English
The present thesis has a film as significant part, originated from research hypotheses and considered as a method and study result. Cyber Roças (2019) is a feature-length documentary that portrays activities related to community urban gardens. Its composition shares with the analyzes present here the character of this work. In this thesis, the film is taken as a consequence of the research objective of making audiovisual productions and exploring specific media records, capable of presenting the constitution of an emerging activity in metropolitan centers today, classified as urban agriculture, which has become the object of work analysis. It was essentially sought by the production of the documentary film, which was supported by ethnographic methods of approaching the spaces intended for this practice in the city of Sao Paulo, to constitute data that could present all the heterogeneity of the culture text specially formulated by the composite research corpus by urban gardens located in a given circumscribed and accessed territory, which covers specific localities present in most of the macroregions of the state capital. The hypotheses of this thesis move through different fields, addressing issues such as the emergence of empirical demands that propose new models of food production; the expansion of the physical space of cultivation through electronic and digital means, reaching what we recognize in the course of this study as "digital agriculture"; the reconstitution of the notions about geographical space, expanding concepts such as the boundary; the formation of a new conception of "bios", where the human is placed in an unprecedented and ecological network of associations; as well as the varied cultural and social reorganizations linked to the context of the emergence of public and collective urban agriculture. Supported by a methodology consisting of semiotic concepts, theories about cinema, new technologies, communications, geographical and biological studies, our reflections focus in particular on the mediatized, participatory and collaborative agricultural practices in the electronic environment, as presented in the works developed by the group in social network entitled "Hortelões urbanos", through which we got initial contact with the urban agriculture theme, and which leads the plot of our film and, therefore, contributes to the scope of our thesis. Through these means, we seek to investigate and understand responsive aspects of interaction and communication between different actors in a semiosphere, represented especially in the plural relations between man, machine and nature, seeking to highlight favorable and propositional factors of this interaction.
