O presente corpo-texto busca refletir sobre as razões da invisibilidade de artistas nipobrasileiros em obras audiovisuais nacionais diante do olhar institucionalizado, tendo como uma possível hipótese a disseminação de discursos que exotizaram e, ainda, exotizam, estes corpos e que os associam à figura do perpétuo estrangeiro no âmago de um tecido social conhecido por ser plural. Através de três obras principais e muito distintas entre si, o trabalho discorre sobre alguns aspectos ambíguos que atravessam este corpo dentro da ordem social brasileira. A telenovela Sol Nascente (2016) será analisada a partir dos acontecimentos midiáticos que surgiram após o apagamento étnico de dois corpos amarelos que poderiam ser protagonistas. O filme Gaijin, Os Caminhos da Liberdade (1980), filme clássico que teve uma recepção ampla para além dos circuitos de festivais será abordado a partir dos temas de representatividade e identidade, além de ser retomado no contexto da fabulação. Por fim, no último capítulo, o documentário Bem-vindos de Novo (2021) será discutido no contexto das estratégias de fabulação. O trabalho também problematiza o que seria a representatividade do nipo-brasileiro no audiovisual quando vinculado a alguma espécie de reivindicação identitária. A fim de não cair em armadilhas e acompanhado pelas teorias/práticas de autores que desestabilizam a dicotomia eu e outro, muito mais do que se reter às imagens e textos que exotizam o corpo do nipo-brasileiro ou a uma luta identitária, importa ao trabalho imaginar as inúmeras possibilidades de criação do nipo-brasileiro no audiovisual e vice-versa.

The present body text seeks to reflect on the reasons for the invisibility of Japanese- Brazilian artists in national audiovisual works before the institutionalized gaze, having as a possible hypothesis the dissemination of discourses that exoticized and still exoticize these bodies and which associate them with the figure of the perpetual foreigner at the heart of a society known to be plural. Through three main and very different works, the present text discusses some ambiguous aspects that cross through this body within the Brazilian social order. The soap opera Sol Nascente (2016) will be analyzed from the media events that emerged after the ethnic erasure of two yellow bodies that could be protagonists. The film Gaijin, Os Caminhos da Liberdade (1980), a classic film that had a wide reception beyond the festival circuits, will be approached from the perspective of representativeness and identity, in addition to being retaken in the context of fabulation. Finally, in the last chapter, the documentary Bem-vindos de Novo (2021) will be discussed in the context of fabulation strategies. The work also problematizes what would be the representativeness of the Japanese- Brazilian in the audiovisual when in relations to some sort of identity claim. To avoid falling into traps and accompanied by the theories/practices of authors who destabilized the I and Other dichotomy, much more than sticking to the images and texts that exoticize the body of the Japanese-Brazilian or to an identity struggle, it is important to the work to imagine the countless possibilities of creation from the Japanese-Brazilian in the audiovisual and vice versa.
