A presente tese mostra o trabalho da artista Fernanda Gomes a partir de uma perspectiva aproximada. O ponto de vista de uma artista que observa outra artista de perto é o eixo central do trabalho. Para melhor compreensão da obra da artista, contextualizo sua produção desde seu período de formação até os dias de hoje e enfatizo como a particularidade de seu processo formativo a afasta de sua geração e a aproxima da geração anterior. Apresento também alguns espaços institucionais nos quais a artista já havia trabalhado, as relações estabelecidas nesses espaços, o comportamento da obra, seja em um projeto de intervenção permanente, seja naquelas guardadas em acervo. Finalmente, relato a experiência de montagem de sua exposição na Pinacoteca de São Paulo em novembro de 2019 que tive a oportunidade de acompanhar diariamente até o momento da abertura.

The present thesis shows the work of the artist Fernanda Gomes from an approximate perspective. The point of view of an artist who observes another artist from close is the central axis of the work. For a better understanding of the artists work, I contextualize her production from her formation period to the present day and emphasize how the particularity of her formative process separates her from her generation and brings her closer to the previous generation. I also present some institutional spaces in which the artist had previously worked, the relationships established in these spaces, the behavior of the work, whether in a permanent intervention project or in those kept in a collection. Finally, I report the experience of setting up his exhibition at the Pinacoteca de São Paulo in November 2019 that I had the opportunity to follow daily until the moment of the opening.
