Abstract in English
This study analyzes the productions of Aleta Valente and Wisrah Villefort from their profiles on the social platform Instagram, respectively @ex_miss_febem_ and @mercado__livre. Since these artists have the social media as a laboratory, but at the same time, as an exhibition place, it is proposed that they make use of the algorithmic logic to achieve wider circulation of images which are critical to dominant patterns. It is observed that these productions show similar operations such as the appropriation and resignification of contents, the methodological reiteration of the dominant visuality proposing twists of meaning, reaching heterogeneous audiences and a circulation to other exhibition spaces. A critique of the spectacle and also some doses of irony are present in both poetics, bringing certain tensions in the relations mediated by images. The statute of the digital image plays a central role in the observation of these practices, emerging a reflection on their potentials and contradictions. The concept of post-internet becomes useful throughout the text, as it allows us to situate the global context of these artists' productions.
